It also provides outstanding thermical shock resistance, corrosion and erosion resistance.
Syalon thermowells are available in few different classes. Syalon 101 covers are well known thanks to its unique properties in cotact with liquid non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, its alloys and zinc. This allows for continuous temperature measurement of liquid metals which translates to better moulding process results. Moreover Syalon 101 is resistant to deposition of impurities in process which reduces maintenance to a miniumum. Syalon 101 is suitable for use at temperatures up to 1200°C.
Is is recomended to use Syalon 050 at temperature above 1200ºC. This material provides also outstanding physics properties and can be use at temparature up to 1400°C.
Syalon 110 is a composite grade silicon nitride based sialon ceramic which is use for special applications where temperature can reach even 1600ºC. It is also applicable for non-ferrous metals.
